Remembering 911
It was a beautiful summer morn
The day the nation stood still
The day the planes came from the sky
Their mission to destroy and kill
When one hit the north tower, we wondered
How could this accident be
A plane crashes into the south tower
We are under attack, its easy for all to see
The sirens scream, red lights flash
Police and firemen, race to the scene
The flames shoot out, the buildings above
People leap, from horrors not seen
On TV we see the images, bodies falling
Men and women holding hands, leaping
We watch in horror, our mouths open
We watch those on the ground, weeping
People flee the buildings, fireman climb the stairs
Upward to the inferno, as if they’re in a race
Up and up they climb, there must be some to save
They know not the horror, they are about to face
Plane three crashes into the pentagon
A ball of fire, lights up the morning sky
Black smoke billows, flames shoot out
Now we wonder, how many more will die
Tower two firemen climb, above rumble is heard
A warning scream, but it is to late
Tower two crumbles, as it comes down
Bringing those inside, to meet their grisly fate
A cloud of ash and dust, billows in the air
This cloud of death, blocks the morning sun
This cloud of ash, it grows and spreads
It engulfs, it chokes, those who flee and run
In a Pennsylvania field, plane four goes down
Where was it headed, we may never know
Passengers on the plane, heroes everyone
Decided this would be, as far as it would go
The call goes out, to tower one
Again and again, but it is too late
Again a tower falls, petrified we watch
As those inside, meet their grisly fate
Another cloud of ash, billows in the air
This cloud of death, turns the day to night
It covers buildings, moving down the streets
Leaving death’s, dust carpet, from the horror site
Those on the ground, covered in death’s dust and ash
Unable to run, they gasp for air, they can barely walk
Their emotions drained, their strength is sapped
They walk, they look back, they cry, they can not talk
Across the bridges they walk, as if they’re in a daze
The deafening silence lingers, now distant sirens call
They look back’ hoping they will awaken from a dream
Hoping they will see those two towers standing tall
From the deepest darkest hell, of the madman’s mind
Came the ungodly horrors, this sick and tortured plan
He claims a God, to twist his follower’s minds
From hell, a gospel of death, is sung by this madman
Some may have forgotten, some may block it out
Some may think it is over, some may feel secure
The madmen have not forgotten, they’ll all remember
Their minds are full of hate, of that one thing I’m sure
Some may have forgotten, some may block it out
Some may think its over, some may feel secure
The madmen have not forgotten, they swear its not over
Their hhearts are full of hate, of that one thing I‘m sure
What of the Marines lost in Beirut, Sailors on th e Cole
Can you not remember how theses men and women died
They were killed by madmen with hatred in their heart
Have you now forgotten, pushed their memories aside
To all who have forgotten, you must paint a picture
Burn it in your mind, that day you’ll clearly see
So all will forever remember, how evil came that day
They cared not who they kill, it could be you or me
